The monthly Board Meeting was called to order at 6:56 by President Dennis Backer. Members present: Dennis Backer, Grace McKay, Emmett Kesel, Gary Stone, Tina Wilson, Travis, John Coleman and John Primm. Minutes John Primm: The minutes of the January meeting were accepted as posted on the web site. Treasurer's Report Beverley Turner: not present. Programming - John Coleman: Lasts months meeting only had about ten members. It was thought that the location and specific topic were the reason why attendance was so low. Hopefully we will have more at the next meeting at Chapman University in Orange. The March meeting will be back at Wild West Media. The April meeting is scheduled during the week of NAB, so it will be on April 27 instead the fourth Wednesday of the month. Part of that meeting will include a NAB report from at least three people on the board who will be attending. It is hoped to have another outdoor Drive-In video showcase and barbeque in the summer like last year. Information about the meetings is always posted on this web sites main page. Specific parking directions to the meeting this month at Chapman will be available soon. Registration - Robert Sheridan: not present. Membership - Emmett Kesel: It was noted that we need to make sure we get a guests name, address, phone number and e-mail. We had one guest at the January meeting who got away. PR - Susan Wilcox, Bill Ennis: no report neither present. Communications - Tina Wilson: Needs a better list of members and guests in MS Word format to calls. Speaker's Bureau/Campus Liaison - Charlie Gibbs: not present. Charlie is suffering some health problems, and can no longer take on this responsibility. John Coleman noted that having a few volunteer speakers cover our local colleges would be good for membership. For now some people have agreed to represent MCA-I. John Coleman will be organizing a list of members and the schools they are wiling to speak at. The information is to appear on our website, and will be sent to the local colleges. Website - Grace McKay, Travis: The web site directory has not been updated yet. The software component of Mambo for the directory was approved for purchase at our last board meeting. The check for $100 was given to Grace for it at this meeting. The board thought that Graces new www.ocmedialist.com website utilized a good directory system. Old Business: Much discussion took place regarding ways to increase our membership, but no specific plans were made. New Business: Dennis Backer will visit with the AMA (American Marketing Association) to find out if MCA-I can have a presence at their trade show. Gary Stone is looking for a new breakfast meeting location. The Hofs Hut in Tustin that we have been meeting at every fourth Wednesday at 8 AM is sadly closing. A new location will be announced in an upcoming Tuesday Blast e-mail. As a thank you for serving on the board this term, President Dennis Backer announced that the meal was going to be paid for by the chapter. It should be noted that no one ordered pie. (But if I had known this in advance, I would have had some wine!) The meeting adjourned without pie at 8:35. John Primm, MCA-I Secretary
