On Wednesday, November 2, the MCAI board meeting was called to order by President Dennis Backer at 7:00. In attendance were Travis, Beverly Turner, Grace McKay, Larry Goldsmith, Emmett Kessel, John Coleman, John Primm, Bill Ennis, Gary Stone, Dennis Backer, and Tina Wilson. After the treasurer's report was given, Dennis brought up the fact that we need to have open communication with those people who are presenting topics at each meeting so that we are all on the same page. Larry Goldsmith mentioned that Gear Monkey is open to the possibility of our having a meeting at their location at some point. John Coleman mentioned that our November 16th meeting would probably be held at Martini Blues, but that he would know more within the next couple of days. The guest speaker scheduled for that meeting is Bill Word, comedian and comedy consultant who teaches comedy and holds comedy workshops and stand-up comedy contests. The topic that will be presented is how to incorporate humor in the work place. Dennis suggested that we think about how we have incorporated humor in this industry and possibly coming up with examples. It was also mentioned that on November 17th, the MCAI will be supporting and co-sponsoring the high definition video event with the MAOC and that we are responsible for helping organize and produce the event. We also will be working with the Digital Cinema Society. Grace said that she and Ken Anderson are coordinating between the two web sites. Dennis said to tell Ken that we would handle the registration process. Our next topic of discussion was the holiday party which will be held at Marie Calendars on Wednesday evening December 21st. Meal selections will be posted on the web site. Dennis suggested that we go back to the White Elephant format. Travis said he would do an advertisement about the party. It was mentioned that Teri needs to have all information that would be included in the Tuesday Blast available to her on the Friday before it needs to go out. Then she would be able to have the information sent to Grace for the web site by that Monday. It was also mentioned that we need a calendar of events that will list our meetings, and a phone directory to make our member list easier to locate. Grace said that she would add the calendar, and Beverly said that she would be the official calendar host. Grace suggested that when someone becomes a new member, that there should be an article about them on the front page with their profile and picture included. For those of you who were not able to join us this month, you missed the free pie and the celebration of Dennis Backer's birthday. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05. Tina Wilson, MCA-I Recording Secretary
