MCAI BOARD NOTES-JUNE 2007
The June 2007 MCAI board meeting was held on Wednesday June 6, at Rutabegorz restaurant in Tustin. President John Coleman reminded everyone about the coming elections in June, and the formation of the nominating committee.
We also welcomed two new members to our chapter: Liam Kennedy from Imagebeam Productions, and Arturo Valdivia from The Language Connection. John Coleman said that he hopes to see bios of our new members posted on the website. John also mentioned that we are in need of someone to take over the responsibility of writing articles for the Blast. Patricia Shanks agreed to be the assistant editor of the Blast with John Primm as administrator. Travis volunteered to help in emergencies, and Grace volunteered to take over the Blast if John Primm was not available.
In discussing the May meeting which was held regarding websites, everyone agreed that we had one of the best turn outs that we have ever had, and that interest was generated from everyone who attended. John mentioned that the Speakers Bureau had its first outing in Westminster at Garvin Intermediate School, and that a video would be posted on the website in the coming weeks.
Many ideas for meetings and programs were suggested for the months to come, and an idea was also brought up about sending those who are guest speakers at meetings certificates of appreciation. This was voted on and unanimoustly approved by the board. It was also suggested that door prizes for the monthly meetings be posted on our website before each meeting and that MCAI members could think about what types of door prizes they could donate.
All members are welcome to our monthly dinner board meetings. It’s a great way to network, have great food, and a lot of fun.
