Our current balance is $2,079.27. The national organization
has promised to send 2 checks, which should total $1600.00 plus or minus. We
spent $256.00 and had revenue of $565.00 in the last month.
The September mixer at The Water will cost $600.00. There
should be $3,000.00 worth of door prizes at the event. It is requested that we
try to come up with prizes and services to add to the prizes. John Coleman
noted that we need a sponsor for this event.
Tina Wilson asked all in attendance for their goals for the
organization. A summary of goals mentioned included: bigger and better
meetings, more interesting meetings, clarifying our message, making more
connections with schools and filmmakers, getting a broader membership, having
brochures at meetings, having flashier and less homespun meetings and
attracting longtime successful industry people. Being an organization that
people cannot afford NOT to be a member of was suggested as a general
philosophical approach. It was also suggested that our newsletter could have
more real industry/info value. Two items of immediate interest were brochures
on chairs and getting the attendees of the July meeting from Brad at Visual
Resources.
The August party is on the 19th at Gary Stones
and those planning on attending should RSVP. The September mixer is the 25th
at The Waters.
Tina Wilson will meet with the Ad Club and AMA.
John Coleman made a motion for MCAI to authorize a minimum
of $200.00. for a booth if we have 8 participants. The motion was seconded by
Grace McKay and unanimously passed by the board.
Tina Wilson is looking for a membership committee to make
follow-up calls to new members. She suggested for everyone to thing about it
and email or call her.

The Christmas party will be the first week of December at

Discussion of locations for Oct. and Nov. meetings and what
they Ad Club would speak on if we get them for a presentation.
