MCAI BOARD NOTES - FEBRUARY - 2008

Meeting called to order by President Tina Wilson.

Tina thanked Larry Goldsmith, Dennis Backer and South Coast Media Center for hosting the board meeting.

Treasurer, Emmet Kesel, reported $4495 in the chapter treasury. The board voted to have the chapter pay for the board’s dinner at this meeting, which totaled $53.20.

Tina reported on the upcoming leadership summit to be held in Dallas, March 1.  Omar Guzman-Corso said he would attend, if no one else could. Erik Villesvik said he would check to see if he could attend, but thought he could.

Dennis Backer reported on forming a meetup group at meetup.com, for Orange County New Media, to be connected to the MCA-I. New members were signing up for the group. It is important that everyone on our list sign up for the group; this will help attract new members.

Tina talked about membership, and the membership committee and will email its members.

Grace MacKay presented a report on upcoming meetings, and the assignments for arranging them.

There was discussion of the Blast and the Website. Grace is redoing the website. There was consensus on The Blast only being sent out twice a month, before the monthly meeting, and before the breakfast meeting, on the second and third Monday of the month.

There was discussion of publicizing the Feb. 28 MAOC luncheon on our website and in the Blast.

Gary Stone will have a summer music party in July or August.

It was noted that the National ProTracks may be held in Burbank, in conjunction with HD Expo. There was a general feeling that our chapter could contribute more if the ProTracks were held in Orange County.

Meeting adjourned.
