MCAI BOARD NOTES - NOVEMBER 2007

Meeting opened at 7:11pm

M inutes approved.  

The Treasurer noted $4,206.94 in the bank, $1985.00 in admission fees, $1176.00 in outflow, rebates of $1474.00, 90.87 in other income, revenue of 4206.00, spent $3316.00 and ended up ahead $890.00 for the year.  It was noted that the Young & Rubicon presentation was well attended.  

President Tina Wilson discussed her attendance at the MCAI national Pro Track event saying that it was unclear about next year and that MCAI wants to know what members think will attract them next year. There was general discussion and agreement that it had to be something more spectacular.  

Discussion of upcoming meetings, including JVC presentation on the 15th and the Christmas Party on Dec. 5th.  

Discussion of The Blast’s technical holdup in bulk emailing.  A motion to spend $10-$20 for software to help with the mailing was approved.  

Future meetings were discussed including Amy Brandeis suggesting an entertainment lawyer to talk about copyrights and John Coleman’s idea for an Adobe trainer to talk about tips for After Affects Feb. 20th.  

There was a general discussion of corporate use of HD in projects and how common that will be in the future. There was general interest in that as a topic as well as compression for websites. Also discussed was how to finance a documentary and a “How do I get to the next level” panel.   Rick Sherman announced that he was now co-president of the Media Alliance.
