On November 17th, 2005 the
MCAi OC/LA Chapter, along with the Digital Cinema Society and the Media
Alliance of Orange County produced the OC HDV SYMPOSIUM at Sanders
Studio in Santa Ana, CA near Costa Mesa.
After refreshments
and appetizers, the event opened with remarks from the presidents of
the three organizations, Dennis Backer, President of Media
Communications Association; Ken Anderson, Co-President of Media
Alliance; and James Mathers, President of Digital Cinema Society. The
main program was split into two panels of experts discussing the
technical, creative and practical aspects of the HDV formatacquisition
and post production--and taking questions. Also on hand were
representatives of equipment and software manufacturers displaying
their latest HDV products and explaining their features, including
representatives of ProMax. Many valuable door prizes including software
and books were given out.
