MCAI Members gathered in a sidebar at the Summer BBQ and Swap Meet in July and elected new officers and Board members for the coming year. Our new leadership includes a mix of new and familiar faces...
Newly elected to the board is Walter Davis, Walter Davis Enterprises. An internet entrepreneur and talk show host, Davis is a familiar face and but this will be his first time on the MCAI LA/OC Chapter’s Board of Directors and will serve as Member at Large.
New member, social media expert, author an life/business coach, Marilyn McLeod, was inaugurated as our organization’s Secretary.
Working with our first-time board members will be a number of old hands. Current President, Mark Alexander of Alexander Video Productions, has agreed to helm the chapter for another year.
Film producer and internet journalist, Art Kirsch, who also publishes online industry newsletter, OC Showbiz.com, rerturns to continue his service as the chapter’s Treasurer.
Brian Page, a sound designer, voice talent and owner of Vocal Images, steps up from his previous position as Board Member at Large to become our new Vice President. Page is also currently serving on the international Board of Directors.
Producer-Director, John Coleman of Twin Oaks Communications, who was performing duties of Secretary on a temporary basis will also serve on the board as a Member at Large. Coleman is a past chapter president and a member of the international Board of Directors as well.
Also joining the board on a regular basis are a number of officers-emeritis including voice artist Tina Wilson, Grace McKay of Electric Pictures, past treasurer Emmett Kesel and Others.
The new Board met for the first time on August 3rd and after installation of new members expressed gratitude to the retiring board members for their service, including broadcast engineer Eva Crabbs, nature videographer and producer Richard Theiss of RTSea Productions and producer-director Bill O‘Neill of Celtfire Productions
For the second year, the Panasonic Solutions Company is making these iconic events possible. Starting on March 24th with the first event in San Diego, Panasonic is supporting media professionals with its involvement in MCA-I’s MediaProCamp. The popularity of the event has grown the series to a total of six this year.
Previously, Panasonic has given attendees sneak previews of new products such as the groundbreaking AG-3DP1, a 3D integrated twin-lens P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder, and the Panasonic AG-AF100 featuring a large 4/3-inch, 16:9 MOS imager with an imaging area just slightly smaller than 35mm cinema film
